Hotel Laki - Kirkjubaejarklaustur

Location: the hotel was very close to wooden platform and Reynisdrangar black sand beach and other sites.

Lived in the new building, everything is great, good location, gREAT BREAKFAST.

No criticism.

Exceptionally comfortable bed in economy queen room with large windows, a kettle, and coffee. Remote location in a quite area. Not far from the glacier lagoon, local attraction for sight-seeing and hiking and a nearby restaurant for dinner.

My favourite property in Kirkjubaejarklaustur. Everything there were good, including great facilities.

We had a really really nice stay in the winter time.

The hotel was fairly clean. The breakfast was delicious and cheap and the entire staff was EXCEPTIONAL. The standard room was comfortable modern with a tinier bathroom. The venue had a remote location in a very nice neighbourhood with nice views.

Creepy Funky Vibe

This place had a real throwback feel, like something outta a horror movie! Reception was basic but they gave us a surprise upgrade. Our room, though, was a bummer. Super old furniture and mold in the bathroom. They had a decent restaurant, but breakfast was a letdown. Cool trails outside, but no real upkeep.

After sampling the lamb chops at the hotel restaurant, I was singing their praises all night! Breakfast spread was a bountiful feast that had me ready to conquer the day. Plus, the view from the upper common areas? Fine!

Room was a bit worn, especially for the price. The kitchen noise was a less-than-ideal alarm clock, so if you get Room 105, I'd suggest you negotiate for a swap!

I loved the spacious room, tastefully decorated with charming rural views and provided easy accessibility for me, as a senior. The breakfast spread was good, offering hearty choices that really energized my day.

Improve menu options for seniors at the restaurant.

Our standard double room was spacious and clean, offering fine views of the surrounding area. The breakfast buffet was generous and offered a variety of tasty options, and we loved the comfortable beds after a long day of exploring.

The room I received was outdated, showing signs of wear and tear. On top of that, the room next to the emergency exit was noisy due to frequent fire alarm tests at inconvenient times. For the amount I paid, I expected a far better level of comfort and service.

Hotel Laki offered fine views of the surrounding landscape. The breakfast buffet featured a generous selection of delicious options, which really set a positive tone for the day. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The dinner buffet fell short. The cost felt steep for the quality and quantity of food provided. A lack of options for kids was disappointing. Our room had some maintenance issues. The shower struggled with hot water availability and the furnishings seemed outdated. While the location was fantastic for exploring, the dining experience definitely needs an upgrade.

Awesome stay with friends! We enjoyed fishing in Lake Vikuflod and went on thrilling jeep tours to Mýrdalsjökull Glacier. The location was perfect for exploring nearby attractions. It was an excellent base for our adventures, and the hearty breakfast was a nice touch! Would definitely recommend for a group trip.

The decor did feel a bit tired and the bathrooms could use an upgrade. For the price we paid, I expected a bit more comfort, especially after traveling around the country.
